Cowichan Cycles Tip of the Day!

Let Us Help You Pick The Right Helmet - Many helmets are designed to be road- or mountain-bike specific. Road helmets tend to be sleeker, more aerodynamic and are designed to force air through the front vents for cooling. Mountain bike helmets are made to allow heat to radiate through the top because airflow and riding speeds are slower. Most off-road models include visors, which come in handy because you sit more upright on a mountain bike and the visor cuts glare when the late evening or early morning sun flashing through the trees makes it difficult to see the trail. While it's not essential to use a category-specific helmet for your cycling, it's definitely a case of form following function and you should give it some thought. We have a great selection of helmets to choose from, and we're here to help you with the decision and the perfect fit.

Cycling Glossary - Word of the Day

An airplane or automobile term that is now sometimes (and confusingly) used for the parts making up the rider "compartment" on the bicycle, like the seat, seatpost, handlebars, stem and levers.
